DESCRIPTION OF POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMS IN DENTISTRY
M.Sc, M.Phil and MDS programs are offered in various fields of dentistry, included Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), Master of Science (M.Sc.), Master of Philosophy (M.Phil), Fellowship of the College of Physicians & Surgeons (FCPS).
Fellowship of the College of Physicians & Surgeons (FCPS)
The aim of the training program is to produce a Dental Surgeon in the relevant field having sufficient knowledge, skill and attitude to provide care at the consultant level with confidence. This is a four year program and is offered in the fields of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Operative Dentistry. These programs are recognized by the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP).
Master of Dental Surgery (MDS)
The aim of the training program is to produce a Dental Surgeon in the relevant field having sufficient knowledge, skill and attitude to provide care at the consultant level with confidence. This is a four year program with 84 credit hours of clinical and surgical training. The program is offered in the areas of Oral Pathology, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Operative Dentistry.
Master of Philosophy (M.Phil)
The aim of the training program is to produce a Dental Surgeon in the relevant field having sufficient knowledge, skill and attitude to provide care and education at the consultant level with confidence. This is a two year program with 48 credit hours of training. The program is offered in the areas of Oral Anatomy, Community Dentistry and Dental Material.
Master of Science (M.Sc.)
The aim of the training program is to produce a Dental Surgeon in the relevant field having sufficient knowledge, skill and attitude to provide care at the consultant level with confidence. This is a two year program with 48 credit hours of clinical and surgical training. The program is offered in the areas of Oral Pathology, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Operative Dentistry and Periodontology.
